The 17-year-old is dedicated to helping the community, organising and coaching Nagambie Primary School’s cricket carnival as well as volunteering for the CFA and assisting during Nathalia’s flood period.
Shepherd started playing cricket in the MILO in2CRICKET program before moving on to junior club, Nagambie.
The talented all-rounder is no stranger to playing with and against boys, currently playing in Nagambie’s boys’ team in the Seymour District Cricket Associations B Grade competition.
The 2011-12 cricket season saw the young cricketer win the league batting average and place second for the bowling average, displaying Shepherd’s dominance in the competition.
Having represented Victoria in the National Championships and the North East Knights in the VicSpirit Pathway Championships, Shepherd continues to chase her dream of playing elite cricket.
“I’m hoping to one day play for VicSpirit,” Shepherd said.
“I love the game and have a lot of time for it.”
