Community Cricket Program now open for applications

In partnership with Local Government, Cricket Australia and Cricket Victoria, the Program will help to improve grassroots cricket infrastructure across the state, providing much needed upgrades to nets, pitches, changerooms and playing surfaces.

It will also help create new metropolitan cricket centres across greater metropolitan Melbourne.

Cricket Victoria CEO Andrew Ingleton welcomed the opening of the grant funding.

“The Victorian Government’s Community Cricket Program will see a range of facilities built, upgraded or improved to ensure players have access to quality facilities that benefits their involvement in cricket.”

“We want our cricket fans to have the best and we’re working with the Victorian Government to make that a reality.”

The program includes two grant funding streams for Cricket Infrastructure in Victoria including:

  • Community Facilities – The development of and upgrades to community facilities aimed at improving participation opportunities for all Victorians
  • Metropolitan Cricket and Community Centres – Support the development of cricketers and provide greater access to people from all backgrounds. The Centres will assist with the management of the game, acting as administrative hubs and will deliver key objectives including:
    • Pathways (eg: development of local junior talent, lower costs to parents).
    • Community Programs (eg: space for community groups to meet).
    • Community Cricket: (eg: better facilities for girls and women’s cricket)
    • Premier Cricket (eg: focus on women’s premier cricket)

Program Guidelines which can be found on this link:
