Cricket Victoria wins back-to-back Pride in Sport awards

The organisation won the Highest Ranking State Sporting Organisation Award for the second consecutive year.

Cricket Victoria Head of Diversity Emma Staples said the award was shared with everyone in the cricket community.

“We’re very proud to win this award for the second year in a row and it really demonstrates some of the great work we have done and will continue to do to make Victorian cricket a sport for all,” Staples said.

“We’re grateful to all of the our partner organisations, including Proud2Play, and clubs who are supportive of making cricket an inclusive sport and one that everyone can continue to enjoy.”

The Pride in Sport Index is an initiative of the Australian Human Rights Commission and the Australian Sports Commission and a legacy of the Bingham Cup, Sydney.

The Pride in Sport Index™ (PSI) is the first and only benchmarking instrument specifically designed to assess the inclusion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT+) people within Australian sport and sporting organisations.

Participating in the index allows Australian sporting organisations to not only assess their own practice, but determine that which constitutes good practice, along with the ability to benchmark their own initiatives against an external measure and other sporting organisations.
