Kananook take all abilities honours

Having won the toss and elected to bat, Kananook set Wyndham a target of 4-143 from 10 overs.

A tight bowling display saw Wyndham complete its innings on 71, with Kananook taking out the title.

Throughout the day, 12 Super League teams competed in a round-robin tournament with Kananook and Wyndham advancing through to the final.

In the Ten Over Tonk format, eight teams battled it out over the carnival with Footscray and Wyndham topping the table undefeated.

Commonwealth Bank VicSpirit WT20 captain Emma Inglis attended the day, providing encouragement and feedback to participants.

“It was a fantastic day of cricket and it was great to see so many players of all abilities having such a great time playing with their teammates,” Inglis said.

“The enthusiasm and competitiveness of the teams was outstanding.”

City of Casey Mayor Geoff Ablett, City of Casey councilor Amanda Stapleton and member of The Lord’s Taverners Ian Crawford were also in attendance to show their support for the event.

“We’ve put a lot of funding into all abilities cricket and footy so to see so many teams here make us proud,” Ablett said.
