Girls Leadership Program sees positive outcomes

The last of the forums was held in Hamilton last week, where 60 girls from across the region attended the day.

The leadership workshop sessions provided girls with the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills by focusing on building confidence and resilience, as well as exploring their leadership style. They were also able to participate in yoga to practice mindfulness alongside cricket sessions, to showcase the importance of living and maintaining an active lifestyle.

The Melbourne Forum was hosted at the CitiPower Centre where girls were treated to all-star panels who provided fresh perspectives on leadership, overcoming challenges and being brave. The panel included;

  • Former Australian cricketer Belinda Clarke
  • Collingwood AFLW player, Erica Fowler
  • Former Western Fury and Perth Scorchers cricketer, Bahvi Devchand
  • Former Australian swimmer, Linley Frame
  • Current Victorian cricketers Chloe Rafferty and Peter Siddle

In addition to the panels, girls involved in the program took part in a jujitsu session which was designed to take participants out of their comfort zone, challenging them to connect with others and themselves through their inner warrior.

Following this popular session, girls also had the opportunity to watch a WBBL match and get up close to some of the best female cricketers in Australia.

The Girls Leadership Program continues to go from strength to strength, with new and exciting additions being made each year. To register your interest in the Girls Leadership Program for 2020, click here.
