Cricket Victoria to recognise volunteers

Recipients were selected after clubs and associations from across the state nominated their highly valued volunteers for their work in grassroots cricket.

English legend, Sir Ian Botham, will feature as the guest speaker, recounting his experiences from playing in the Test arena and noting the impact that volunteers have had on his career.

The Deputy Leader of the Nationals and Member for Northern Victoria, Damian Drum, MP, will also be on hand to acknowledge the volunteers.

From being involved in junior cricket to curators, committee members and coaches, this year’s volunteers undertake a range of duties and represent the many diverse people and roles in Victorian club cricket.

Many communities, clubs and teams would not exist without the tireless support of volunteers and CV remains steadfast in recognising the extraordinary contribution to the game that they make.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of our sport,” Cricket Victoria Chief Executive Officer Tony Dodemaide said.

“We congratulate this year’s recipients and thank the thousands of volunteers across the state for the endless hours they give to cricket.”
