The election of the Andrews Government shortly after the plan was released has resulted in an historic new commitment to Victorian cricket development.
The new State Government has announced $10 million funding over the next four years toward community cricket programs and facilities.
Cricket Victoria is now working in close consultation with the State Government to shape allocation criteria and ensure that this unprecedented level of funding is directed to the highest priority facility and program development needs.
CV Game and Market Development Manager Rohan O’Neill said that the State Government’s support provided a wonderful opportunity to nurture the growth of Victorian cricket and secure the vibrant future it deserves.
“Dedicated funding will help enable cricket to fulfil the strategic priorities of Common Ground, particularly in relation to game and practice facilities, regional development and female cricket facilities.
“This funding will also be a welcome complement to the existing investment made by Victorian local governments in facilities across the state,” O’Neill said.
