A Royal Visit

The Harmony in Cricket message is about celebrating the fact that cricket is a game for everyone, regardless of cultural background, religion, gender, age or ability.

Representatives of the Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers and VicSpirit will be present, along with participants from the Victorian Vikings, the state’s all abilities cricket side, Noogal Toengorrt Tani, the state’s Indigenous cricket side, Born to Play, CV’s female participation program, and the Sunshine Heights Cricket Club, one of the nation’s most inclusive and diverse cricket clubs.

Premier of Victoria, the Hon. Ted Baillieu, MP, and Minister for Sport and Recreation, the Hon. Hugh Delahunty, MP, will also be in attendance.

CV Chief Executive Officer Tony Dodemaide said the organisation was delighted to be showcasing Harmony in Cricket to His Royal Highness.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming The Prince of Wales to the MCG and demonstrating the power that cricket possesses to bring people of all walks of life together,” Mr Dodemaide said.

“The impact that can be achieved by sharing a field together, and the camaraderie that is developed between teammates and opponents alike, remains the calling card of our sport.

“We proudly acknowledge that our clubs are a place where everybody, regardless of their cultural background, religion, gender, age or ability feels welcome and if a person has a passion for cricket; our clubs have a place for them.”

His Royal Highness’ visit will incorporate a number of activities that will take place on the hallowed turf of the MCG involving the likes of Australian representatives Cameron White and David Hussey, along with Commonwealth Bank VicSpirit captain Emma Inglis and quick Briana Binch.

Please note, this event is not open to the public.
