Australia to host India in the T20 World Cup final at MCG

Held on International Women’s Day 2020, the Final presents a ground-breaking opportunity to set a world record for attendance at a women’s sporting event of 90,186.

Global pop superstar Katy Perry will perform during the pre-game show and post match celebration in what is anticipated to be the biggest women’s cricket match of all time.

The free Fan Zone at Yarra Park outside Gate 3 at the MCG will be the beating heart of the Final with plenty of family fun on offer across Saturday and Sunday. The Fan Zone will be open from 11am till 6pm each day, with the Australian and Indian teams making an appearance from 1-2pm on Saturday. There will be something for everyone, including:

    • Food Village (featuring an array of Melbourne’s best street eats and local produce)
    • Melbourne laneway-style container bar (Licensed)

    • Finalist Team Appearances – Saturday only
    • Cricket skills activations (including the Flinders Catch, Laneway Shot and the Melbourne Stump Hit, plus many more)
    • Free play Cricket Zone for the kids

    • Laneway Cricket Nets featuring Melbourne’s street art culture

    • Giant Cricket Hemet Installation
    • Selfie Alive (two-metre reflective cricket ball)
    • Art Installations (featuring artwork by local female Victorian artists)
    • Kids interactive street art paint-by-numbers
    • Face painters
  • Music
    • DJ Pods
    • Live entertainment experience featuring multicultural performers
