Staged from February 17 to 24, Noogal Toengorrt Tani will be hoping to improve on its third place finish last season, its best ever result, after naming a mixture of youth and experience in its squad.
Since the competition’s inaugural match in 1994, the Imparja Cup has evolved into one of the nation’s most cherished sporting carnivals that celebrates indigenous culture and cricket.
Damon Egan and Grant Bell will debut for the side, while Nathan Gardiner returns after a two-year absence due to work commitments.
Skipper Ben Abbatangelo hopes the new additions can help Victoria achieve glory for the first time.
“It’s good to see both retuning and new faces in the side,” Abbatangelo said.
“Hopefully they can add something extra to the team and we can add to our third place finish from last year.”
In the lead in to the Imparja Cup, Victoria will fine-tune its preparations with a practice match against Melbourne University Cricket Club on Sunday, December 16.
