In a huge coup for the state, current Big Bash League stars Clive Rose and Trent Lawford will make the trip north as part of the Victorian Open Men’s team.
Cricket Victoria Indoor Cricket Manager Ross Gregory said the inclusions of Rose and Lawford would add significant experience to the team and give them every chance of improving on their fourth placing from last year’s Championships.
Meanwhile, Victoria’s Open Women’s team will be aiming to win their third straight title at the Championships. They will be led by experienced trio Briony Polkinghorne, Laura Shaw and Nicole Martin who are all coming off strong form in the National Indoor Cricket League.
Victoria’s campaign begins with eight junior teams taking the court in the first week of the carnival, which is highlighted by several NICL and Victorian Outdoor Junior Cricket Representatives. This will be followed by the Under 21s, Lord’s Taverners and Open Men’s and Women’s in the second week of the Championships.
Selected matches and finals will be live streamed via the Cricket Australia Indoor Facebook Page @CricketAusIndoor
