Victoria’s over-30 male Indoor team clinched a nail-biting one run victory in the Final at last week’s Australian Masters Indoor Cricket Championships held in Joondalup, Perth.
The triumphant side defeated arch-rival New South Wales 157 to 156 in the showpiece event to take home Victoria’s only silverware.
Victoria’s over-30 women’s outfit finished in third place, as did the over-35 male with the over-40 and over-45 male teams claiming fifth place in their sections.
Cricket Victoria indoor cricket manager Ross Gregory said Victoria was well represented at the Championships.
“We had 26 teams competing across 5 divisions over the week in a tournament that exemplified the passion of indoor cricketers and the growing importance of the masters sector of cricket in all formats,” Gregory said.
The tournament was capped off with a presentation gala attended by nearly 400 players, officials and guests.
