Ross Gregory inducted into Cricket Australia’s inaugural Indoor Cricket Hall of Fame

Gregory has been involved in Indoor Cricket for over 30 years, first representing Victoria as a player in 1982 and playing in the state team until 1990.

He won two National Championships throughout this time and captained the Victorian team from 1984 to 1988.

He also captained the Waverley Chiefs and Knox Chiefs to 12 VicLeague Premierships.

Gregory held a coaching role with the Victorian Juniors before he began coaching the Victorian Open Men’s team in 1993, a position he held for 13 years.

He has also coached the Australian Extreme Men’s team since 2001, where he has won six consecutive World Cups (2002, 2004, 2007, 2009, 2011 & 2014) as well as seven international series.

Gregory also represented Australia as a player and is one of only two Victorian Indoor Cricket “Legends”.

When receiving his award at the Australian Indoor Open Championships Presentation & Hall of Fame Dinner, he spoke from the heart about many of the sacrifices he has made for the game, and how he has no regrets in doing so.

Gregory has worked effortlessly to forge pathways in Victoria for individuals to participate in the game of indoor cricket right from grassroots level through to state and national representation, as well as achieving significant milestones as a player himself.

Cricket Victoria thanks Ross for his outstanding contribution to indoor cricket in within his various roles across the years and congratulates him on this tremendous achievement.
