Both clubs will field 5th XI squads which will play in the Sunday One-Day competitions, with Mt Waverley in Sunday Division One and Moorabbin in Sunday Division Two.
With the recent addition of Aspendale Cricket Club, the number of new clubs rises to three, with the number of new teams increasing by 10 with a new Division 6 added for the coming season.
The new season fixtures kick off on October 7 with champions South Caulfield at home to Beaumaris.
Head of Cricket Southern Bayside Warren Griffin said the excitement was building about the new season.
“We’re setting up for a big second season of competition in Southern Bayside. Having Moorabbin, Mt Waverley and Aspendale join will only serve to strengthen the competition overall,” Griffin said.
“This year’s schedule allows us to make the most of the summer calendar and gives our players, umpires and administrators the best chance of being involved regularly. We were also determined to have some key markers throughout the season for players to look forward to.”
Among the highlights is the White Ball final on Sunday 4 February and scheduling Sunday One-Day Grade Grand Finals to finish before multi-format grade semi finals to provide the best exposure for all competing clubs.
A double header T20 round on the weekend of Saturday 16 December will serve as the conclusion to the first half of the season and the Christmas break.
The competition will return with double header T20’s on January 6-7 during peak BBL season while cricket is forefront of the sporting calendar.
