Cricket Victoria announcement: Trevor O’Hoy

Mr O’Hoy first joined the Cricket Victoria Board in November 2008 as one of the first ever Appointed Directors, and his stint included 3 years as Cricket Victoria representative to the Cricket Australia Board between 2008-09 and 2011-12, CV’s co-Director to the Melbourne Stars from 2014-15 to present, and membership of numerous committees and working groups.

Mr O’Hoy will simultaneously step down from his role as co-Director to the Melbourne Stars.

Cricket Victoria Chairman Russell Thomas thanked Mr O’Hoy for his 8 years of service to the organisation, and to Australian cricket.

“Trevor is amongst the most experienced and respected business figures in Australia, and in high demand as a non-Executive Director. We are extremely grateful that he chose to give so much time, energy and attention to cricket in a volunteer capacity over an extended period, and in so many roles,” Mr Thomas said.

“Trevor was instrumental in a number of key projects at national and state level during his time with us, including the recent major governance and financial model reforms in Australian cricket. On behalf of the Cricket Victoria Board and CEO Tony Dodemaide, I’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Trevor for all his efforts over the last 8 years. His insights, challenges, ideas, mentoring and direction have been invaluable during this time.”

Mr O’Hoy said he wished Cricket Victoria well.

“Over the last 8 years I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the cricket community both at Cricket Victoria and also at Cricket Australia,” O’Hoy said.

“Looking forward, I am genuinely excited about the future of the game of cricket as Australia’s favourite sport. Cricket Victoria can play a major role in consolidating the sport in this position of strength,” O’Hoy added.

“There are also significant opportunities for the sport that will come with major governance reform within the wider Victorian cricket community. I look forward to seeing those opportunities being realised in the seasons ahead.”

Cricket Victoria will consider the appointment of a new Director in due course.
