Renegades welcome new CEO to Etihad Stadium

Having spent the last five years developing the Crusty Demons brand name across many commercial executions, this experience provides a solid platform for Coventry to tackle the new role.

Sport is in his blood – his AFL Brownlow Medal-winning grandfather Syd Coventry was one of Collingwood’s greatest players and his great uncle is the legendary AFL goalkicker Gordon Coventry. The Coventry name coincidentally sits at one end of Etihad Stadium, which is the home ground of the Renegades.

Coventry commented that he was very excited about the role and looking forward to the challenges ahead.

“I am delighted to take on such a wonderful opportunity and looking forward to the second instalment of the KFC T20 Big Bash League,” he said.

“We will be aiming high to offer our fans and members the best and most innovative live cricket entertainment and to be super competitive on the field. My primary focus will be to build the Melbourne Renegades brand and engage with our fans to ensure a successful and exciting sporting team.”

Cricket Victoria CEO Tony Dodemaide said Coventry’s experience in growing the Crusty Demons into a worldwide phenomenon would be a boon for the Melbourne Renegades.

“We’re delighted to have Stuart on board ahead of what will be a key period in the evolution of the Melbourne Renegades,” Dodemaide said.

“Stuart’s credentials speak for themselves and he will no doubt play a key role in positioning the Renegades as a dominant force in BBL|02 and beyond.”
