Victoria name squads for U19 Male National Championships

Victoria Metro will be coached by Victorian-contracted batter Travis Dean with former Ryder Medallist and Cricket Victoria Talent Development Specialist James Miller as an assistant coach.

Former first-class cricketer and Geelong CC Head Coach Nick Speak will coach Victoria Country alongside current Victorian-contracted bowler Xavier Crone as an assistant coach.

Melbourne Renegades’ batter Harry Dixon will captain Victoria Metro, while fellow Australian Under 19 representative Harkirat Bajwa will captain Victoria Country.

The Under 19 Male National Championships are set to be hosted in Albury from November 30 to December 7.

Cricket Victoria’s Talent Development Manager – Male, Tom Evans, said the players were looking forward to getting into the tournament after a busy pre-season.

“We’re really excited to see these players represent Victoria at the upcoming National Championships,” Evans said.

“They have all been working hard within our Emerging Players Program and at their Premier Clubs to improve their game technically, tactically, mentally and physically.

“I’m sure they will relish the opportunity to match it with the best youth players across the country.”
