Victorian teams ready for National Cricket Inclusion Championships

The four squads will travel north for the tournament that will be played at Marchant Park, Apsley from Saturday 20 January through to Thursday 25 January.

The Men’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing and ID teams will be looking to repeat their performances from last year’s championships where Victoria won both divisions.

The Victorian Men’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing team won the championship for the first time since 2003, breaking a 20-year drought, whilst the ID team went back-to-back winning the title for the second time in consecutive years.

Excitingly, this year Victoria will field a women’s team in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing division for the first time since 2019.

Cricket Victoria’s Diversity and Inclusion Manager Kaitlyn Frawley said all four squads are looking forward to the championships.

“These championships are a wonderful celebration of inclusivity and are a great representation of the many diverse cricketers we have in this country.

“We are so thrilled to have a Women’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing team representing Victoria this year.

“This team and the number of new players highlights the growth we’ve seen in these programs in 2024.”
