NICL 2018

Croydon Raiders crowned Women’s NICL Champions

The Raiders’ victory ensured the NICL title stayed in Victoria for the second year running in the two editions of the tournament to date, after the Cranbourne Kings took the title last year.

The win capped off a superb tournament for the Croydon-based outfit, who won all four of their group matches, including a win over the home side the Stepney Thunder on Sunday morning in the last group game, which acted as a dress-rehearsal for the final (98-80).

Over their entire season counting their finals’ campaigns the Raiders won 14 matches, losing just once and also tying once.

Summary Score – Final:
Stepney Thunder 79 (1) [Shaw 3/-3, Ferris 2/0, Campion 1/8] lost to Croydon Raiders 85 (3) [Ferris 19, Loughnan 18, Jennings 18]
Net Scores – Ferris +19, Shaw +14, Donald +6
Best on Ground – Hailey Ferris (Croydon Raiders)
