Inglis awarded Una Paisley Medal

The 24-year-old, who is also the Commonwealth Bank VicSpirit’s WT20 captain, polled 36 votes, seven clear of her Brunswick Park teammate Tammy Norquay on 29, with Box Hill’s Anna Lanning two votes further back in third place with 27.

Brunswick Park’s Elyse Villani and Essendon Maribyrnong Park’s Emily McIntyre finished in equal fourth position on 25 votes.

Inglis polled in 10 of 16 matches, the most of any player in the competition, including five best-on-ground performances as she took the lead in the penultimate round of the competition.

Despite missing nine matches representing Victoria and the Shooting Stars, Inglis still amassed more runs than any other player with 689 at an average of 53.00, including an unbeaten 180 against Melbourne.

Behind the stumps Inglis took 12 catches and claimed six stumpings to capture her maiden Una Paisley Medal.

Inglis was also selected as the number three in the Team of the Season, after teammate Villani and Box Hill’s Meg Lanning, who was named captain of the side.

Norquay was selected at number four with Dandenong captain Kelly Applebee at five and Anna Lanning at number six.

Essendon Maribyrnong Park young gun Emily Smith was selected as the side’s wicketkeeper with Dandenong spinner Alana King, Essendon Maribyrnong Park quick Emma Kearney, Dandenong opener Emma Gallagher, Box Hill spinner Alex Hartley and Dandenong leggie Laura Croft making up the bowling attack.
