VicHealth Active Club grants awarded to 27 clubs

The funding from VicHealth enabled most of these clubs who received a grant to establish or grow their female cricket teams.

These Active Grants prioritise two areas: female participation and participation in social and modified forms of sports. Through this, VicHealth inviting Victoria’s community sporting clubs to address these factors by either creating new sport opportunities or by implementing, within your own club, an existing program created by a State or National sporting organisation.

VicHealth’s Active Club Grants make a significant contribution to the Victorian community by improving the health of less active Victorians. This is done by providing more opportunities to participate in sport, with a focus on people who otherwise would not get these opportunities.

VicHealth’s research indicates these are likely to be women and girls, people with a disability, people living in areas of socioeconomic disadvantage, or those who come from multicultural or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.

VicHealth’s next round of Active Club Grants opens on Tuesday 30th of January 2018 and closes Friday 2nd of March.
