Maddinson and Harris pile on the runs on Day 1

After falling to 2-7 following the loss of Travis Dean (5) and Will Pucovski (0) early, Maddinson (136) and Harris (94) combined for a 170-run partnership to put the hosts back on top.

Maddinson’s century was his third in as many matches for Victoria.

Cameron White (41) and Matt Short (45) also helped build Victoria’s first innings score, which finished at 7-376 at stumps with Seb Gotch (32*) and Scott Boland (6*) unbeaten.

Play will resume on Day 2 at 10:30am.
