It’s the first time a Shield match has been played at the ground since 2019.

“Any chance we get to play at the MCG is naturally very special,” Victorian Coach Chris Rogers said.

“For a lot of the players being away for a long time, to be able to come here, to sleep in their own beds and play at the MCG is a fantastic privilege.”

Up to 1,000 spectators are permitted at the MCG for each day of the Shield match.
