The 15-year-old debutant’s four wickets, which included a hat-trick, played a pivotal role in restricting Northern Territory to 8-95 before a 41-run knock from opener Rohan Wight secured a seven-wicket win.

Having won the toss and electing to bat, Northern Territory lost an early wicket as Bohdi Walker (2-7) continued his good from to dismiss opener Brandon King, who was caught behind for one.

Bryan Manning (46) and Ayden Allan combined for a 54-run partnership to steady the ship, however, Josh Eaton (1-23) got the breakthrough as Allan was stumped for 21.

Youngster King then came into the attack to snare a hat-trick in his first Imparja Cup campaign, claiming the wickets of Adrian McAdam (bowled), Lachlan Saunders (bowled) and Darrell Lowe (LBW).

The right-arm medium-fast bowler took his fourth wicket when he bowled Stefan Ludwig for one, finishing with figures of 4-14 from four overs.

In reply, Daniel Mock and Wight again began the run chase combining for a 52-run opening stand before Mock was given out LBW for 12.

Wight hit big to set up the Victorian win, smashing 41 from 37 balls including three fours and three sixes.
Following Wight’s dismissal, it was captain Ben Abbatangelo who brought home the win, finishing unbeaten on 25 to take Victoria to 3-96 in the 14th over.

The Victorian Men’s Imparja Cup team will next face Western Australia and Tasmania on Thursday while the Victorian Women’s Imparja Cup team opens their 2015 campaign against Northern Territory today.
