Rivers and Sharks undefeated as Quarter Finals begin at Dowling Shield

The Northern Rivers and the South East Sharks remain the only undefeated side after the three preliminary matches.

Sam McCaskill was the highest scorer of yesterday’s matches with 82 for Central Highlands before he was dismissed obstructing the field while Victorian Under-17 representative Mackenzie Harvey made an unbeaten 79 as the Breakers chased 102 against the Eagles.

Dylan Landt made the most of his first bowling opportunity for the Highlands claiming 4-11 while Julian Pope grabbed 4-30 for the Spirit.

After three matches, Breakers number three batsman Daniel Ingleton is topping the run-scorers list with 156 runs, after innings of 75, 28 and 53, with Charlie Loveridge and Connor Rutland the next two highest.

With the ball, the Breakers’ Jonathon Leadbeater is leading the way with eight dismissals after hauls of 3-4, 3-36 and 2-11 while James Boyce and Nivin Sathyajith have claimed seven wickets.

Today’s quarter finals see Inner South East Scorpions take on Western Spirit, Northern Rivers and Central Highlands facing off, South East Bayside Breakers and Inner East Emus clashing while the fourth quarter final will be played out between the South East Sharks and Outer East Eagles.
