Opening batsman, Sophie Van De Heuvel dominated with the bat in both fixtures making a 42-ball 60 against WA and a run-a-ball 72 against Tasmania.

Alana D’Aquino was the other opening batsman against WA and the pair shared a 72-run stand before D’Aquino was caught behind by Georgie Ireland off the bowling of Lucy Ballard for 24.

Van De Heuvel and Victoria’s number three, Teagan Brett, then shared a 37-run partnership before the opener was bowled by Georgia Platten for a 60.

Brett made a quick 25 off 19 balls before she was out lbw to Georgia Wyllie with the score on 126.

Annabel Sutherland and Madeline Stirling fell cheaply, for one and seven respectively, but Scarlett Saxon-Jones continued to bat well at the other end and finished the innings unbeaten on 28 off just 16 deliveries, having scored four fours and a six to guide Victoria to 5-159.

Erika Quinn and Bella Gietzmann opened the attack for Victoria against Platten and wicketkeeper Ireland.

Quinn bowled both openers; Platten for 13 and Ireland for seven which saw WA two down for 29.

Medium-pacer, Eve Sheehan picked up Victoria’s third and fourth wickets as she bowled Emma Davidson for two and then had Georgie Middleton caught by Saxon-Jones for two with WA on 35.

WA then compiled a solid 23-run partnership before Sutherland had Courtney Holt caught by Saxon-Jones for 15.

Victoria took their sixth wicket as Gietzmann ran out Kailey Wheatcroft for 17 with the score on just 59.

Fast-bowler Tenushi Perera took her first wicket of the competition as she bowled Molly Healy for a single.

By restricting WA to 7-82, Victoria picked up their third win of the tournament and looked to take the momentum into their afternoon T20 against series hosts Tasmania.

Despite Gietzmann being run out for four with the score on 17 Van De Heuvel was still in top form following her knock against WA and was dismissed only on the final delivery of the innings for 72 by Emily Philpott with the score on 137.

Brett made a useful 17 sharing a 61-run partnership with Van De Heuvel before she was caught by Zoe Burke off the bowling of Bonnie Davies.

After another good batting display the bowlers once again backed-up their team mates in the second innings as they kept Tasmania to 6-74.

It was Emma Sands in the field who took the first Tasmanian wicket as she ran out Philpott with the score on nine.

After a 25-run stand Sheehan got the breakthrough as she had Stacey Norton-Smith caught by D’Aquino for 21.

Sutherland continued to apply the pressure and two runs later took Victoria’s third wicket as Amy Duggan was caught by Rosie Wynd for a single.

A seven-run stand then ensued before three wickets fell for just five runs, as Sutherland picked up her second and Sands took two.

Tasmania finished their innings with an unbeaten 26-run partnership between Eloise Dick and Grace Molnar to see them to 6-74 which meant Victoria extended their winning streak to four, winning by 63 runs.

The U15s have a rest day today before taking on the Cricket Australia XI and ACT/Country NSW in T20s on Sunday.
