Earlier this week, School Sport Victoria unveiled its line-up for February’s tournament after conducting trials for the squad since the term two school holidays.
Hoping to improve on last year’s fifth position finish, the squad encompasses a balance of skill with strong leadership.
“We have a well balanced team with a good mix of spin, pace and batters from both the metro and country regions,” assistant coach Shane Koop said.
“We are preparing for Canberra to have slower wickets so our big focus will be containing sides.
“This is going to be a great opportunity for the boys to be exposed to the national cricket landscape.”
After performing at the 2012-13 Victorian Bushranger Pathway Championships, participants were invited to trial for the squad with a number of outdoor and indoor sessions held, as well as match practice.
The School Sport Australia Cricket Championships takes place from February 22 to 28, 2014.
