Female Easter Series held in Albury and Wodonga a success

The four team (Vic Metro, Vic Country, New South Wales Metro and New South Wales Country) saw players compete in four T20 matches and three 50 over games in six days.

Women’s National Cricket League and Women’s Big Bash League players Ella Hayward (Melbourne Renegades), Georgia Gall (Melbourne Stars), Phoebe Litchfield (NSW and Sydney Thunder), Arnika Learoyd (NSW and Sydney Thunder), Kate Peterson (Sydney Thunder), Gabby Sutcliffe (Sydney Thunder), Nel Bryson-Smith (Hobart Hurricanes), Olivia Porter (ACT and Sydney Thunder) and Hayley Silver-Holmes (NSW & Sydney Sixers) were involved in the tournament.

The series provided representative opportunities for players in the absence of the cancelled National Championships with Victorian players Makinley Blows and Bhavi Devchand providing guidance in their coaching roles.

Olivia Henry (Vic Metro – 164 runs), Ella Hayward (Vic Metro 158 runs & 9 wickets), Kristy Arulrajah (8 wickets) and Hasrat Gill (Vic Country – 6 wickets & runs 101 runs) were among the state’s standouts throughout the tournament.

Gill was one of several players still eligible for under 16 representative matches to participate in the tournament.
