Victoria name U19 Women’s National Championship Squads

Three Victorian state-contracted players have been selected across both squads, with Rhys McKenna in the Vic Country squad and Ella Hayward and Olivia Henry in the Vic Metro squad.

The players selected have been involved in Victoria’s Emerging Players Program involving high performance coaching and support for players to develop their skills technically, tactically, mentally and physically to enhance their preparation for the 2022-23 season.

Cricket Victoria’s Female Emerging Player Performance Manager, Andy Christie said:

“After an extensive Emerging Player Program focussing on both team and individual skill, the two Victorian teams are eager to test themselves at the National Championships.

“Both Victorian teams are balanced in skillset and experience with a clear drive to improve on past performances.”

“Congratulations to all players involved across the Emerging Player Program, the level of skill and knowledge was of the highest quality.”

The Vic Metro squad will be coached by Anna O’Donnell and assisted by Amy Vine, while Nicole Martin will coach the Vic Country squad assisted by Victoria state contracted player Rhiann O’Donnell.
