Patto has the need for speed

The former Test paceman, who played 62 first-class matches during a decorated career for Nottinghamshire and the Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers, will scale back his cricket commitments to train and breed greyhounds, but will continue to turn out for Dandenong in Victorian Premier Cricket.

“Darren put his heart and soul into the Renegades and his presence in the rooms will be sorely missed,” Renegades coach Simon Helmot said.

“He’s a highly respected figure around the cricketing world and he played a key role in recruitment last season.

“We wish him the best of luck with his new venture and we’ll closely follow his progress in the greyhound world.”
