Cricket Victoria partners with BlueQ

BlueQ is a safe and secure online platform for qualifications that allows users to store all of their qualifications digitally in the cloud – including Working With Children Checks, first aid certificates, coaching accreditations, Responsible Service of Alcohol etc. With BlueQ, users can access their documents anywhere on demand and share those with employers or managing organisations.

It also alerts users to the impending expiration of qualifications and sends reminders for renewal, so individuals can always keep qualifications current and valid.

Ultimately, BlueQ will help cricket clubs and associations provide a safer environment for participants.

Cricket Victoria will be using the BlueQ platform to focus on Working With Children Check audits, ensuring compliance with new regulatory requirements. Additionally, club committees will have a clearer understanding of the qualifications of all of their volunteers.

On January 1 2017, the new Victorian Child Safe Standards come into effect for all organisations that deal with children. The Standards place a greater responsibility on Victorian organisations that provide services to children, to implement compulsory child safe standards to protect children from harm on both match-days and at training.

Initially, Cricket Victoria will be rolling out BlueQ to clubs with teams participating in the following competitions:

• Victorian Premier Cricket
• Cricket Southern Bayside
• Cricket Victoria State Championships
• Cricket Victoria Women’s Community Cricket Competition

BlueQ CEO Nathan Merzvinskis said that his company was looking forward to working with Cricket Victoria and says the partnership is a great step forward for its clubs and competition managers.

“BlueQ is proud to be working with Cricket Victoria to increase compliance, minimise risk and reduce the administrative burden faced by clubs and administrators across the board,” Mr Merzvinskis said.

“We believe that by using BlueQ, Cricket Victoria and its associated clubs will have the best processes in place to ensure safe and compliant competitions. By reducing the administrative burden associated with compliance, BlueQ will enable cricket volunteers to focus on what they do best; fostering a great environment to grow the game.”

Cricket Victoria is currently working with clubs to create accounts for all applicable roles. Individuals will be sent a personalised invitation in the second week of December.
