The 28 teams across 12 different University and TAFE providers enjoyed both the T10 competitive and six-a-side social divisions on offer, as well as the Sri Lankan Paprae Band, Indian Bollywood dancers and a bicycle smoothie maker.
Tegbir Singh, the Deakin University captain on the day, said:
“During two years of my stay in Melbourne the Uni / TAFE cup was my first ever cricket event in Australia. It was a really exciting and energetic event,” said Singh.
“I was also made the captain of one of the teams involved in this event, which is a really motivating thing in its own.
“Not only that, it also helped me meet people from different countries and share their thoughts, and I am keen to hear the date when this Uni/TAFE is going to be organised again.”
Congratulations to all teams involved on the day, and particularly to social division winners Melbourne University (picture above) and runners-up Deakin University.
Although bad light ended play early, the competitive division Semi-Final between Peaceful Pak 11 and the Werribee Titans will be played at a later date TBC. The winner will face All Nations in the Grand Final.
Special thanks also to the support from Study Melbourne, Deakin Univeristy, Bendigo Tafe and Kangan Institute in making the day possible.
