Boxing Day Test tickets on sale now

Initial Ashes sales have been strong for Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test, however there are still plenty of tickets available for Melbourne’s biggest fixture of the summer.

“Victorians look forward to the Boxing Day Test every year, but especially so for the iconic Ashes series between traditional rivals Australia and England,” said Cricket Victoria CEO Tony Dodemaide.

“Tickets have been selling well already, and we strongly encourage fans to secure tickets early so they don’t miss out on one of the biggest fixtures this summer.”

Fans can catch a slice of the Ashes action for the first time in four years from $30 for adults, $10 for kids and $65 for families, the same entry-level prices as the season just gone. Full prices for this summer as well as on sale times and details on how to buy tickets are available at www.cricket.com.au/tickets.

“We know that tickets will be in high demand for this series, as we have already seen in the priority period for Australian Cricket Family Members,” said Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland.

“We are very aware of those who try to take advantage of the system and scalp tickets at inflated prices and our message is to get in early, and only purchase from official ticket agencies to ensure you only pay the official prices.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming tens of thousands of visitors for what will be the biggest and proudest sporting contest in Australia this summer,” concluded Mr Sutherland.

Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for the 2017-18 season now, with hospitality and Cricket Australia Travel Office packages also currently available. Further information about these offers can be found at www.cricket.com.au/ashes.
