Cricket Victoria Foundation launches Pick a Picket program

To own their slice of history, fans will be able to purchase a picket number corresponding to a former Victorian, Australian, Melbourne Stars or Melbourne Renegades player.

A plaque will then be installed on the corresponding perimeter pickets at the CitiPower Centre. All funds raised support the important work of the Cricket Victoria Foundation.

Cricket Victoria Foundation Chair Paul Gardner AM said the pickets were a fantastic way to own a slice of history.

“Whether it’s for you, your business or family, we’ve got a fantastic opportunity to secure a place on the pickets alongside some of our best-known players,” Gardner said.

“It can also be a wonderful way to recognise someone significant in your life or the perfect bespoke Christmas present.”

The CitiPower Centre hosts domestic and international cricket on a regular basis and is a key part of Victoria’s sporting landscape.

“The funds raised through this program will support our three pillars of community, accessible participation and a sport for all. What a wonderful way to create a legacy of your connection to Victorian cricket.”

Fans can access the following tiers to purchase:

  • Your name, club or business engraved into a picket.
  • Your name alongside a current or former Victorian, Melbourne Renegades or Melbourne Stars player
  • Your name alongside an Australian player from Victoria, the Melbourne Renegades or Melbourne Stars

Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins said the pickets would be an iconic part of the venue.

“Not only does this program raise important funds for the Foundation, but it also builds a strong sense of connection to our past as well as our future. It’s the many unique stories of Victorian cricket fans that come to life through the plaques and what they represent to our community,” Cummins said.
