Greenvale Kangaroos unveil new turf nets

Local dignitaries, including Hume City Council Mayor Helen Patsikatheodorou and Hume City Council CEO Domenic Isola, attended the event, as well as Cricket Victoria Chairman Russell Thomas, as Siddle bowled to local players.

Cricket Victoria Premier Cricket Strategy and Development Manager Mike Ronchi said that the support from the Hume City Council had allowed Greenvale Kangaroos to build facilities which are the envy of the rest of the competition.

“It’s brilliant to see Greenvale’s vision, which has been heavily supported by the City of Hume come to fruition in the form of a turf training facility that is without doubt one of the best going around – easily as good as any first-class turf training set-up,” Ronchi said.

“The facility offers not just Greenvale, but the broader cricketing community such as local representative and pathway teams, a world class venue to train within.

“The Greenvale Reserve development of three turf grounds, an electronic scoreboard and these new best practice turf nets, combined with further proposed pavilion construction and upgrades will see the Greenvale complex, facilities and amenities as one of the best cricketing assets in the state.

“With Capital works funding from Cricket Victoria, City of Hume and Greenvale it’s a real tribute to all stakeholders to have produced and completed something that will attract all aspirational cricketers and serve the cricketing community for many seasons to come.”

Cricket Victoria thanks the Hume City Council for their significant contribution to the Greenvale project.
