Sharks and East Metro advance to final

The play of the day goes to Northern Rivers Tayla Vlaeminck who made a brilliant 119* in her sides 26-run victory over North East Knights.

Not to be outdone in the chase North East Knights’ Kaitlyn Ritchie gave it her all in the chase to end the chase on 82*.

East Metro defeated Gippsland Pride by 48 runs at Russell Lucas Oval. East Metro’s Madeleine Wright continued her strong carnival with 33*.

Gippsland showed great fight with the bat with Sophie Molineux getting 43 and Nicole Faltum chipping in with 36.

Central Highlands opening bowler Jordyn Pearson stole the show with the ball claiming 5-27 off her eights overs, along with two maidens in her sides 27 run win over North Metro.

With the bat for the Highlands it was the Samantha Stevenson show as she reeled off 58* before she retired.

For North Metro Stephanie Lewis was the standout with the ball claiming figures off 3-29 in her sides defeat.

Mallee Murray Bull’s Makinley Blows continued her run scoring form for the week by producing 43 for her side in their six-wicket defeat against South West.

South West bowler Paris Rafferty bowled just five balls in the innings to claim 2-0 and clean up the Bulls tail.

Grace Mills was the standout batter for the South East Sharks in their 26 runs victory over Western Waves with 59* off 84 deliveries.

With the ball for the Sharks Julie Fearns was the chief destroyer claiming figures of 3-16 off her seven overs that also included two maidens.

The final of the under-18 VicSpirit Pathway Championships will be contested between South East Sharks and East Metro.

The final will be played on Monday, January 26 at Frankston Peninsula Cricket Club.
