Victoria name U16 Female National Championship Squads

The 2023 National championships will be held in Canberra between January 5 and 12.

Players have been selected through strong performances in Victorian pathway programs and in club cricket.

The squads feature five players who have also been selected for the U19 National Championships as bottom-age players; Zoe Samuel, Sara Kennedy, Bronte Leishman, Tegan Rule & Samara Dulvin.

“We congratulate all players who have been involved in our Emerging Player Program this season, the level of skill and intent to learn was outstanding and we’re excited to send two Victorian teams eager to challenge themselves against the other states,” Cricket Victoria’s Female Emerging Player Performance Manager, Andy Christie said.

“Preparation for the National Championships will commence immediately with a priority on match awareness, gameplay, fielding and managing pressure situations.”

Tyson Freeman (Head Coach) and Laura Shaw (Assistant Coach) will lead the Vic Country squad, while Teagan Parker (Head Coach) and Sophie Strickland (Assistant Coach) will take charge of the Vic Metro squad.
