Premier Schools Shield Final

In its second year, the Cricket Victoria initiative saw nine secondary schools compete in the round-robin Twenty20 competition.

Due to a rain interrupted two days, schools competed in three 10-over games, with four teams advancing to the semi-finals.

St Kevin’s and Trinity College triumphed over St Peter’s and Luther respectively, handing them their first losses in the competition.

“We had to shorten all of the games to get them in, but to play all but one in the end was pleasing given the weather we had” Cricket Victoria Schools Coordinator Ryan Batchelder said.

All schools were offered a place in the tournament after winning their recent schools association competition.

Play will commence at 10am tomorrow with the final reverting back to the T20 format.
