Northern Rivers win Under-16 VicSpirit State Championships

After posting 6-95 from their 20 overs, the Rivers’ bowlers kept the pressure on through the Sharks’ innings to restrict them to 6-75 and claim a 20-run victory.

Mardi Petherick was named Player of the Final after she top-scored with 46 while Kate Douglass made 24.

Northern Rivers’ Teagen Brett was awarded Player of the Tournament after she was the highest run-scorer in the tournament, notching scores of 30, 44*, 30, 30*, 51* and 10, while she also the leading wicket-taker, capturing seven wickets.

Western Waves opener Alyssa Humphries amassed the highest score of the series with an unbeaten 53 against the Mallee Murray Bulls.

Inner South East Scorpions bowler Isabella Weber took the best bowling figures of the series, claiming 3-0 from one over, including a hat trick, against the Outer East Eagles.
