Victorian under-18s defeat arch rival

After yesterday’s washout, the Victorian girls started the tournament strongly, bowling NSW Metro out for 100 and then passing the total six wickets down.

With the ball, the main strike power came from Tayla Vlaeminck, who finished the innings with figures of 4-23 off nine overs.

Georgia Wareham also chipped in with two wickets to help bundle NSW Metro out for 100.

Hope Irvine delivered with the bat for the Victorians, as she cruised to finish with 45* and steer the team to victory.

At the top of the order, Makinley Blows got the girls off to a decent start adding 22 to the team’s score before being dismissed.

After Wednesday’s defeat, Victoria Invitational XI were looking for a better performance and they delivered.

After posting 180 off their allotted overs, Victoria Invitational XI pushed ACT/NSW Country right to the wire but it wasn’t enough as NSW/ACT Country passed the score eight down.

Grace Mills top scored again for the Victorian Invitational XI with 41 off 81 balls in bowler friendly conditions.

Opener Taylah Lynn put up a strong fight at the top of the order, making a hard fought 37 before being dismissed.

With the ball, there were many even contributors but the pick of the bowlers for the Victoria Invitational XI was Primrose Wohlers who collected figures of 2-22 off her nine overs.

Friday sees the girls play two T20s for the first time in the tournament, Victoria taking on Tasmania and the Victoria Invitational XI playing South Australia.

In the afternoon game, we have the derby between both Victorian teams.
