Victorian under-18s into the Final

Yesterday, the side claimed their sixth win in a row after defeating South Australia by 106 runs in their final one day match.

Sent in by the South Australians, Victoria battled hard to reach a score of 9-170 at the end of the innings; in reply, the Victorian bowlers were too good and bowled SA out for 64 in the 31st over.

With the bat, Victoria had four girls make scores between 20 and 30 which showed it was an all round effort with the bat.

Georgia Wareham top scored with 25 and was ably supported by Sophie Molineux (23), Melina Ayres (24) and opener Makinley Blows (22).

Opening bowler Claire Nolte was the main destroyer finishing the match with figures of five overs, one maiden, 3-6.

Skipper Molineux added to her batting effort with the ball, collecting 2-4 off her five overs, which included three maidens.

Victoria Invitation XI went down again losing to Tasmania in their final match by two wickets.

Alice Johnston was the star with the bat adding 69 off 134 balls before her innings came to an end after she was run out.

Taylah Lynn and Emma Lynch supported the innings well adding 32 and 31 respectively.
