Victorian under-18s overcome in Final

NSW Metro batted first and posted 8-143 of their 50 overs, and in reply, Victoria never really got going with the bat and were bowled out for 82 in the 40th over.

Georgia Wareham took the first two wickets for Victoria, and finished her seven overs with figures of 2-16, which included three maidens.

Madeleine Wright also chipped in with two wickets in her very tidy spell of nine overs, 2-22.

With the bat, Victoria struggled to get any partnerships going for the first time in the tournament.

Skipper Sophie Molineux was the top scorer with a hard fought 24 off 73 deliveries.

The Victoria Invitational XI finished seventh after winning their first game of the tournament, beating Tasmania by 20 runs in the seventh place play-off game.

Being sent in, the Victoria Invitational XI played really well to reach a total of 9-177 of their 50 overs.

Tasmania came out quickly in the second innings but lost wickets at regular intervals to be bowled out for 157.

Grace Mills top scored for the Victoria Invitational XI with a well-made 33 off 42 deliveries.

Mills was supported well by skipper Kaitlyn Kile (25) and Elly Donald (22) as the girls pushed the score to 9-177.

With the ball, Primrose Wohlers did the damage, picking up 4-32 off her nine overs.

Elly Donald backed her batting performance with a solid spell of bowling; she ended her 10 overs with figures of 2-36.

It was a great way for the Victoria Invitational XI to finish their week, grabbing their first win to go with a valuable learning experience throughout the tournament.
