Thomson and Martin nominated for Future Star Award

Thomson was in rare form with the bat for Melbourne in the Victorian Premier competition and for Vic Country at the Under 19 National Championships, earning him his nomination.

He was one of the standout batsman from both Victorian sides at the National Championships, hitting two centuries (110 against Vic Metro and 104* against the CA XI) and a further two half centuries on his way to 441 runs in eight games at an average of 63.

Thomson also scored an impressive 83 for Melbourne’s First XI against Geelong, highlighting his ability to play against some of the best cricketing talent in the state.

Martin was in scintillating form at the batting crease for regional side Mallee Murray at the VicSpirit Under 18 Female State Championships.

She hit 198 runs in five innings, including a top score of 117* against North East Country in a game where she also claimed 3-28.

The talented wicketkeeper-batsman also represented Victoria at the Under 18 Female National Championships in January, helping the Vics to break an 11-year New South Wales stranglehold on the title.
