Victorian under-15s defeated by Queensland

Queensland batted first and posted a score of 4-105 from their 20 overs before Victoria, in reply, fell 15 runs short on 8-91.

The initial six-over powerplay went well for the Victorian bowlers limiting Queensland to a score of 1-28.

A steady rate with the bat saw the Queensland girls positioned well in the 15th over with the score 3-77 and looking for a big total in the final five overs.

Victoria’s bowlers finished the final five overs well only conceding 28 runs to restrict Queensland to a chaseable total of 4-105.

In reply, the Victorians didn’t get off to the best of starts losing Zoe Griffiths for two when she was caught.

In form opener Sophie Van de Heuvel continued her good run of form top scoring for the side with 27 before being dismissed.

Sam Ryan came out and put the foot down towards the end of the innings, scoring a faster than a run a ball for her 17 not out off just 14 deliveries.

Victoria will be out for their first win when they take on Western Australia in their second T20 at Blacktown International Sports Park #2.
