Basement Jaxx to hit the 鈥楪

With Australia poised to tackle Sri Lanka at the ‘G on January 11, the one-day series is poised to include live music, big prizes for dress ups and a raft of other exciting entertainment.

In the coming weeks, another three acts will be named for the remaining Commonwealth Bank Series matches across the country.

“Having Basement Jaxx perform their DJ Set at the Commonwealth Bank Series combines two of summer’s hottest activities – cricket and music,” Cricket Australia’s Julian Dunne said.

“They are a big international act and incredible DJs. The ticket offers exceptional value for our fans but they will need to be quick.

“We’ll provide the entertainment, all fans need to do is dress up and be prepared to have some fun!”

Simon Ratcliffe of Basement Jaxx is pumped to be playing down under this summer.

“Felix and myself will be DJ’ing, with Vula on vocals,” Ratcliffe said.

“We’ll play the songs people know, of course, but as we’re in the middle of a new album at the moment we’ll also premiere a few of the new tracks.

“This would have been a hard gig to turn down when you know it’s going to be cold and dark in UK! Plus I’ve never been to a cricket match so really looking forward to the experience.”

Grammy award-winning Basement Jaxx started performing in Brixton, South of London in 1994 and was founded by Felix Buxton and Ratcliffe.

In 1999, the group released their first full length album, Remedy.

Following this came their hit single ‘Where’s Your Head At’.

Since then, they have gone on to release seven albums and have cemented themselves as a staple act at the world’s largest music festivals.

Basment Jaxx guarantee to shake things up at the Commonwealth Bank Series with their dirty house style giving match-goers a unique cricket experience.

Attendees across the Commonwealth Bank Series are encouraged to dress up at match to win great prizes.
