Indoor Women’s side claim title

Trailing 113-106 coming into the final skin, tight bowling from Betheny Taylor, Briony Polkinghorne, Kerry Johnson and Nicole Callinan saw Queensland lose six wickets in the fourth skin to set Victoria a total of 112 to win.

Johnson and Polkinghorne then steered the side to victory, scoring 35 from the final skin as Victoria claimed the title with a 141-111 win.

Taylor was named Player of the Match with 23 runs, two wickets and just five runs conceded.
Victoria finished as runners-up in both the Under-21 Men and Lord’s Taverners competitions.

The Under-21’s lost a close Grand Final to New South Wales 121-129, after they defeated the first-ranked Queensland in the Preliminary Final on Friday night.

They led 95-94 heading into the final skin and despite Player of the Match Rian Boddy’s efforts with the ball, Victoria were set the winning target of 130.

Losing a wicket in Mitchell Curle’s first over derailed the Victorian chase as they fell eight runs short.

The Lord’s Taverners side were defeated 54-164 in the Grand Final by a Queensland side that went through the competition unbeaten.

Victoria’s Open Men’s team lost an epic Preliminary Final against eventual champions Queensland 94-105 on Friday night.

Player of the Match Justin Perkins led the way for the Victorians with 22 runs, three wickets and two runs conceded but it wasn’t enough as Queensland proved stronger in the final skin.
