Gearing up for Indoor Cricket

The Men’s Super League and Women’s Premier League will start on Saturday, April 11 in metropolitan Melbourne.

“We are really looking forward to the season ahead,” Cricket Victoria Indoor Cricket Participation Officer Paul Gilchrist said.

“It’s shaping up to be another great season of indoor cricket.”

This season will see last year’s champions, Croydon, being hard to topple in the top men’s division with the team being led by World Cup MVP and reigning Ross Gregory Medallist, Travis Baker.

“We have seven teams competing in this year’s men’s competition so I’m looking forward to seeing the talent out there,” Gilchrist said.

“Travis Baker had an incredible season last year and I’m sure his team will be hard to beat as they aim for back-to-back titles.”

The inaugural Women’s Premier League saw Cranbourne take out both Firsts and Seconds division titles last year.

Led by Victorian captain, Nicole Martin, Cranbourne’s star studded line up will again produce great cricket in 2015.

“After a successful first year, we see five teams taking part in the Women’s Premier League this season,” Gilchrist said.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the women’s competition continue to go from strength to strength.”
