MILO T20 Blast champions crowned

Over the course of the season, more than 1000 secondary school teams participated in the modified competition.

Trinity College Colac continued its strong form in the tournament piling on a score of 194 and defeating Lilydale by 110 runs in the Year 9-10 boys’ division.

The girls’ competition saw a closer encounter, with FCJ College from Benalla prevailing over Lavalla Secondary College.

The clash produced some exceptional cricket from both sides, with Lavalla falling short of FCJ’s total by 19 runs.

The Year 8 division provided some entertaining battles with Norwood Secondary College defeating Hawesdale P-12 College in the girls’ competition.

Handy contributions from all players saw Cranbourne East College post a massive total of 318 in the boys’ division.

The score was too high for Braemar College, who were defeated by 174 runs.

The Year 7 competition produced two close matches with Waverley Christian College claiming a 24-run victory over Warnambool College in the boys’ division.

Meanwhile, the girl’s saw St Brigid’s College pile on the runs to take a 41-run win over St Thomas Aquinas.

“The day was a great day and I hope that everyone enjoyed it,” Cricket Victoria Schools Coordinator Ryan Batchelder said.

“All matches were of a very high standard and all played with great spirit.”

Cricket Victoria would like to congratulate this year’s state champions, finalists and participants.
