MILO T20 Blast School Cup champions

First introduced by Cricket Victoria in 1998, the MILO T20 Blast state-wide competition, formerly known as Kanga8s, consists of two divisions – boys and girls- for teams from grades five and six.

In conjunction with School Sport Victoria, Cricket Victoria continues to provide high-quality cricket experiences to primary schools with over 1900 boys’ teams and over 1400 girls’ teams competing throughout the 2013 competition.

The state final commenced with 16 schools competing in three rounds of MILO T20 Blast games.

At the end of the three rounds, the two teams with the most points from the respective divisions advanced through to the final.

For the boys, Kew East defeated Sacred Heart, 189-120, to claim the title.

While in the girls’ division, Warnambool East defeated Dandenong North, 155-137, in a close encounter.

Having competed in local and regional carnivals to advance to the MCG, the schools embraced in the rare opportunity.

“It’s been a fantastic day,” Warnambool East coach John Millard said.

“Just to be at the MCG is the big carrot for anybody.”
