Dowling Shield enters final four

Roughsedge (2-17) took two key wickets to restrict the North East Knights to 9-159 before scoring an unbeaten 74 to lead his side to victory, sharing key partnerships with Bailey Eustance (21) and Luke Joyce (16).

The Falcons are now drawn to meet the South East Bayside Breakers in today’s first semi-final, with the winner advancing to the tournament decider.

The Breakers remain unbeaten after Christopher Diggle continued his rich vein of form to guide them to a seven-wicket win over the Barwon Rockets.

The Rockets were restricted to 133, despite contributions from Joseph Vallelonga (39) and Matthew Bird (43).

Blake Parsons (3-10), Joshuah O’Donnell (2-15) and Scott Gordon (2-16) all shone with the ball for the Breakers before Diggle top-scored with 70 to cruise to a comfortable win.

In the second semi-final, Gippsland Pride will meet the North West Wizards as both outfits chase their maiden Dowling Shield.

The Pride booked their place in the final four after claiming a thriller against the Inner East Emus.

A four-wicket haul from skipper James Williams (4-30) kept the Emus to 171 before form batsman Jackson McMahon (50) scored his second consecutive half-century of the carnival to guide the Pride home with three wickets in hand.

Kevin Spaull (59) continued his terrific form with the bat, scoring his second half-century of the carnival to lead the Wizards to a seven-run win against the Northern Rivers.

Spaull top-scored with 59 and despite a middle-order stumble, the Wizards were able to post 205, a total that proved insurmountable for the brave Rivers.

In other results, Western Spirit put forward their their best performance of the carnival as they secured a 116-run victory against the Mallee Murray Bulls.

Seven batsmen reached double figures, with skipper Mitchell Stephens top-scoring with 69 on their way to 9-246.

With the ball, Thomas Duxson led the charge, decimating the Bulls’ middle-order with 4-25 from his 10 overs.

Western Waves returned to the winners’ list with a 31-run win against the South East Sharks.

The Sharks were 3-90 before Travis Parsons broke the game open taking 5-21 as the Waves bowled them out for 145.

Inner South East Scorpions have claimed a hard-fought victory over the Central Highlands thanks to an inspiring performance from skipper Edward Faulkner.

Faulkner claimed 2-31 before guiding his side home scoring 31 of the last 44 runs to claim victory with three overs to spare.

Southern Pioneers clinched a 45-run victory against the Outer East Eagles.

Skipper Ryan Quirk continued his excellent form with bat and ball, scoring 34 at the top of the order before claiming 3-17 and dashing any hopes the Eagles had of claiming their first victory.
